COSC Fleet Expands to 12 Figaro 2s!

COSC extends its huge Thanks to two generous donors who have stepped forward at the turn of the year to fully fund two more Figaro 2s. This will bring our fleet to 12 boats and allow us to reach more college students and more community sailors.

SailMaine Juniors Target Monhegan Island Race!

SailMaine has opened registration for a 5-week Junior Offshore Program culminating in racing the Monhegan Island Race (offshore overnight) sailing our Figaro 2s HOT SOCKS and RAGA. 4 sailors plus one Safety Officer/Coach will sail each boat. The 5-week program will include two weekends of overnight offshore training, two weekends of boat-handling, along with MOB, radio communications, navigation, provisioning, log- and watch-keeping, etc. The students will also complete the US Sailing Online Offshore Safety at Sea program which will gain certification. Maine Yacht Center & COSC – In the News!

Maine Boats Homes & Harbors’ February ’21 issue has a feature story on Maine Yacht Center and Brian Harris, General Manager. A Billy Black photo of 6 of our Figaro 2s at the dock is highlighted. MYC has done whatever refits have been needed for our fleet, as well as installing composting heads in each boat as we wish to promote mixed gender sailing and stewardship of the oceans.
