COSC has received its IRS 501(c)3 designation. COSC raises funds from private donors, foundations, and family foundations. All funds raised are tax-deductible.
These capital funds will be used to buy, ship, and refurbish additional Figaro 2s for our fleet.
Our donor base begins with true offshore sailors, those with a lifetime of Bermuda, Halifax Races, TransAt or TransPac races or passages, who will understand and support the benefits of the skills learned offshore as well as the personal development available to young men and women when they assume the level of responsibility that goes with being “away from the normal support services” of life on land.
To date, 6 major donors have given $100K and 3 major donors have given $50K to allow us to acquire our first 10 boats. Of the 9, 6 are Cruising Club of America (CCA) members; 5 are New York Yacht Club (NYYC) members; 2 are Eastern Yacht Club (EYC) members; 1 is a Storm Trysail Club (STC) member.
